Waitlist currently closed

UPDATE ! 13th October 2025

SAVE THE DATE - Saturday 8th November 2025

The waiting list for plots will open on Saturday 8th November at 9 am.
Residents who live within 3 miles of the site are eligible to apply for a place on the list. There is always a great demand for allotments and to try to be fair to all, we will use the following procedure:

We will hand out a set number of application forms at the BORLAND ROAD gate between 9 and 10 am. You will need to complete the form and return it to us whilst you are at the gate. You will need to provide an email address. We will need to check all details are readable before you leave.

All successfully completed forms will be randomly allocated a space on the waiting list and this will be confirmed via an email to you.

Note that if you get a place on the waiting list, there is generally at least a two year wait before a plot may come up as free.

If you have any questions, please email us

Opening the Waiting List is discussed at our Annual General Meeting and updates are posted here. Please see below for information about the Waiting List:

  • We keep our Waiting List reasonably short – between 50 and 100 people. The average time to be on the list is around 2.5 to 3 years.
  • When the list reaches below 60, a motion is presented at the AGM in March of each year, to open the Waiting List. It is opened until the list reaches 100.
  • Generally the list is opened every other year – however it does depend on allotment turnover rates for the preceding year.
  • When the list is opened, we will advertise here on the website.  We also put notices up on the gates.
  • The process for how to apply for a place on the waiting list will be made clear on the website/gate, but generally you need to collect an application form in person, fill it in and leave it with the officer on a designated day.
  • If you are successful in getting a place on the waiting list, we will let you know by email.
